Ultra Joe by Channel Islands

Ultra Joe
The Average Joe, a super easy-to-ride mini board that represents Al Merrick and became a big hit a few years ago, has been redesigned and released as the Ultra Joe! The Ultra Joe has significantly improved high performance compared to the Average Joe, which was based on the concept that anyone could surf easily and enjoyably. The rails are thinner, the nose width is narrower, and the tail rocker is stronger. The tail design is a double bump squash reminiscent of a #4. The slightly sharper shape allows for critical and light maneuvers like a performance board, and prevents pearling even in deep waves. By keeping the outline and rocker flat near the center of the board, stability and acceleration are not compromised, so the concept of anyone being able to ride easily and enjoyably remains unchanged. For beginners to intermediate surfers, this is a surfboard that you can expect to improve on. For intermediate to advanced surfers, it is recommended as a step-down board for fun surfing when the waves are small and the power is weak. Since the length is chosen to be shorter than a regular all-round board, we recommend riding a board with a volume value slightly larger than usual. Ultra Joe can be ordered in a variety of materials, including Spine Tech and XTR.

Ultra Joe is recommended for these people!
Ultra Joe is a hybrid type board for beginners to advanced surfers. This fun shortboard has performance that is almost like a shortboard, and depending on the size of the board, it can be a great fun board for surfers of any level. As you can imagine from the outline of the board, it takes off extremely fast and has a different level of propulsion than a groveler type board with a thin nose. Of course, it is stable and easy to ride for beginners, but if intermediate surfers ride it with just the right buoyancy, it can be ridden as a performance shortboard with excellent rotation. Since the board can move quickly up, down, left and right on small waves, it is highly recommended for those who want to slide on the waves with a skateboard-like feeling.

Ultra Joe is suitable for various wave sizes and conditions.
The Ultra Joe is perfect for knee-high to head-high, small, weak, thick, or junky waves. It's easy to get speed and stable, so you can ride well all the way to the inside. It's quick to direct, so it's easy to put in one action even in waves with short shoulders.

What is the difference between Ultra Joe and Average Joe?
The Ultra Joe is thinner overall, with a double bump on the tail for better performance. It inherits the concept of the Average Joe, which anyone can enjoy riding, but it has become much lighter and sharper in movement.

Spine-Tek's Ultra Joe is popular!
The Ultra Joe, which is at its best in weak and small waves, is also quite popular for its Spine-Tek material. Spine-Tek is the latest material developed by Shapers in Australia, combining EPS foam, composite fiber, and carbon fiber. Not only is it lightweight, but the board's flex is lively, and you can feel the acceleration and drive just by turning lightly, allowing you to quickly transition to the next turn or maneuver. It returns to its original shape faster than conventional wood stringers, and is reset every time you turn, so the best flex state is maintained throughout your ride. Even when the waves are small, it's easy to gain speed, it's easy to move, and your surfing looks big and flashy!
