Two Happy by Channel Islands

TWO HAPPY

Introducing the new 2021 model "TWO HAPPY" from Al Merrick. Created by Channel Islands head shaper Britt Merrick with Dane Reynolds and Parker Coffin, Two Happy incorporates all the high-performance speed and flow of the original Happy while being more accessible and user-friendly for a wider range of surfers and conditions. A slightly stronger entry rocker and double concave make the Two Happy looser, easier to turn rail-to-rail and easier to operate tight in the pocket of the wave. Team riders describe the Two Happy as very fast, responsive and always underfoot. The slightly more voluminous rails and wider, thicker tail block improve paddling performance, ride comfort and acceleration. Two Happy is more accessible and user-friendly for a wider range of surfers and conditions. Two Happy is packed with the cutting-edge performance design characteristics that Al Merrick has established so far. If you are looking for an easy-to-ride, versatile shortboard, then TWO HAPPY is the answer! The happy patch of TWO HAPPY is red. TWO HAPPY can be ordered in a variety of materials, including PU, EPS, Spine-Tek, and XTR.

TWO HAPPY is recommended for these people!

Al Merrick's Too Happy, like the original Happy, is a high-performance board for intermediate to advanced surfers. However, it is easier to ride and handle than the Too Happy, making it a performance model that can be recommended to everyone. The original Happy was aimed at users who do carving surfing, but the Too Happy is designed to fit any surfer's style. If you've avoided performance models because they seem somehow difficult, and you're looking for an easy performance board that will help you take your surfing to the next level, we highly recommend it.

TWO HAPPY is suitable for all wave sizes and conditions

Two Happy is an all-round type for waves ranging from thick to double. It is also suitable for beach to reef waves and average conditions.

What is the red patch on the tail of TWO HAPPY?

The Happy Patch is made of fiberglass and was invented to replace a standard tail patch. A standard tail patch covers a wide area with carbon material, which makes the tail flex too stiff and makes it difficult to feel the flex and twist when turning. After discussing with shaper Britt Merrick, CI riders began to use a small patch only on the toe, where strength is needed, instead of using a carbon patch to further enhance the performance of the board. The Two Happy sold as a stock board has a red patch on the right side, but in fact the same clear patch is also included on the left side. Therefore, the toe and heel areas are reinforced in the same way whether it is a regular stance or a goofy stance. The original Happy has a blue patch and the Two Happy has a red patch, but the material is the same.

Comparison between HAPPY and TWO HAPPY

The Too Happy has better paddling, speed, and pocket turning, and is designed to be easy for anyone to ride. If you want to do powerful rail surfing, the original Happy is the board for you.
