Al Merrick's latest model, the Fred Stubble, was born when Conner Coffin asked for a small wave model of Fred Rubble, winner of the SIMA Board of the Year in 2011. It was created with the idea of ​​compacting the characteristics of the Rubble. It is a contest board for small waves, allowing rail-to-rail surfing even on small, powerless beach breaks. It also allows for very sharp turns in the wave pocket, while gaining the same speed when paddling as a board that is 3 inches longer. Conner won the 2013 US Open with this board.
