Sampler by Channel Islands

Sampler
The Sampler was developed with the aim of being able to surf well even when the conditions are not good. The short and wide design is effective even when the waves are small or the power is not strong. It is a model that fills the gap between fish-like boards such as The High 5 and The Pod Mod and normal shortboards. Based on The Dumpster Diver, The Sampler has flat nose and center rockers for excellent speed performance, and a gentle curve towards the tail for tight turns and air. A deep single concave is applied to the entire board, and a weak double concave is added near the fins, and a slight vee is set in the tail. The outline draws a gentle curve in the half near the nose, and the curve becomes stronger as it approaches the tail, changing into an outline that is slightly wider forward than the usual Al Merrick design, and dropping into an old-school wide squash tail.

Sampler is recommended for these people!
Sampler is a step-down type board for beginners to advanced surfers. Step-down refers to a board that you ride when the waves are smaller or the power is weaker than your usual board. It is a more all-round board than a groveler type (for small waves). The biggest advantage of this board is its speed performance. The initial speed after riding and the acceleration performance down the line are quite excellent. I would like to recommend this board to those who are worried about lack of speed even if they surf regularly and also want to make a solid top action. I think it is a good choice as an all-round main board to ride in Japan. This board has a low rocker, a flat deck, and volume is left up to the rail. Therefore, paddling is stable and the take-off is fast. And since the rail does not get caught, I think it is difficult to make mistakes.

Sampler supports a variety of wave sizes and conditions.
The Sampler was designed for knee-high to head-high waves, small waves with little power, and slightly junky waves. However, it has also been proven to handle deep waves, so it can be used all-around without any problems by average surfers for everyday surfing. In the Japanese environment, this would be the No. 1 candidate model for the main board.
