Weirdo Ripper by Channel Islands

Weirdo Ripper

Al Merrick's Weirdo Ripper is a board that can be used in both small and medium-sized waves, as proposed by Yadin Nicol. This model started as an improvement on The POD designed by Al in the Channel Islands shaping room, and the Weirdo Ripper is a board designed to be very easy to ride. It has volume from the center to the nose, and the widest point is set forward, making it very easy to paddle and smooth to take off. At the 2012 US Open, Dane Reynolds showed off the board's advantages in tricky conditions at Huntington Beach, and announced it to the world.
