NECKBEARD 3 by Channel Islands

Neckbeard 3

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." That being said, Britt Merrick and Dane Reynolds still felt that a few slight refinements could make an already epic board much better. The merits of the Neckbeard 2, an update to the original Neckbeard, are evidenced in Dane's surf film, "The Electric Acid Surfboard Test." Dane, a big fan of single concaves, asked shaper Britt to remove the vee concave from the original Neck Baird and make the entire bottom a single concave. This changed the rocker settings somewhat, but it also brought positive changes. It enhanced launch, downline speed, and overall control. They also widened the tail block by 1/2 inch and added a slight hip, which improved responsiveness and maneuverability. And in a tweak to this awesome new model, the Neckbeard 3, they rounded off the characteristic square block and updated only the tail shape to a round shape. The Neckbeard 3 is the exact same shape design as the Neckbeard 2 in every respect except the tail, but the new tail design makes the transition in the pocket of the wave smoother and carves the face of the wave as smoothly as butter. And the tube riding has more hold so you can make it with confidence. The Neckbeard 3 is designed with a tri-fin setup in mind, but it also works very well as a quad with a 5-fin plug.

The Neckbeard 3 can be ordered in a variety of materials, including Spine Tech and XTR. Dane rides it with a tri-fin, but a quad fin would also be a good choice if you want more speed.

Neckbeard 3 is recommended for these people!

If you are hesitant to try the Neckbeard 2 because you think the chop tail might get caught or the impact of the look might be too strong, then I would recommend the Neckbeard 3. It still has the same fast take-off speed as the Neckbeard 2, so I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to use just one board, whether it's small waves or bigger waves.

What is the difference between Neckbeard 2 and Neckbeard 3?

The only difference between these two models is the tail shape. The Neckbeard 3 has a round tail, which adds smoothness to the riding and makes it easier to surf with flow using rails. It also maintains stability even at high speeds, allowing you to put in tight rails even in dug sections. It is designed to be ridden with confidence even when the size increases, but it is still a groveler model, so you can enjoy fun surfing even in small waves.
