Twin Pin by Channel Islands

Twin Pin

This sexy and versatile Twin Fin + Pintail is a collaboration between Britt Merrick and one of the most stylish surfers in the world, Mikey February. They wanted to create a board that had all the fun Twin feeling, but with enough hold and projection to eliminate the need for a center or trailer fin. The Twin Pin is designed to be an all-rounder, letting you rip from small, sloppy waves to double overhead life ring walls.

The bottom is flat from the nose to the center, then rolls slightly and has a vee concave at the tail, giving it a buttery smooth ride with a responsive, solid feel.

The rails are thin, so we recommend most people ride a twin pin that is at least 1/8 inch thicker than a regular shortboard. We recommend a special twin fin designed by Britt Merrick just for this model, which is a fin that goes with the twin pin. It's a cross between a keel fin and an upright, and it has an excellent balance of drive, hold, and maneuverability.

The Twin Pin can be ridden in a variety of approaches and sizes depending on what you want to do, the waves you want to ride and the feeling you want to get. For Mikey, he surfs the Fever at 6'0" and prefers the 5'9" and 5'11" Twin Pins to suit all conditions around the world. Tanner Gudauskas prefers the same length as his regular shortboard for Trestles, while Britt likes to ride his Rincon Twin Pin a few inches longer than his regular shortboard.

Twin Pins are offered with a clear bottom on a clear or resin tinted deck. Final color finish may vary.

Twin Pin is recommended for these people!

Recommended for intermediate to advanced riders. It may be a little difficult for beginners, but if you choose a larger size, you will be able to enjoy it without any problems. I would recommend this board to anyone who wants to make good turns with good angles using the rails to the fullest. Unlike fish boards, it is easy to make strong drive turns, so it is also recommended for those who are hesitant to use twin fins.

The wave sizes and conditions that the Twin Pin supports

Compared to a performance shortboard, this board is easy to ride even when the waves are small and weak. Since it is a twin fin, it is easy to gain speed. It holds firmly even when the size increases, so there is no problem even if a wall of a double size approaches. Twin pins are recommended for all sizes and all conditions.

Recommended fins for twin pins

The most recommended is the special twin fin designed by Britt Merrick for the Twin Pin. It is a template between a keel fin and an upright twin fin, so it is an all-purpose fin with an excellent balance of drive and maneuverability.

Twin pin coloring

It is colored on the clear or deck surface using a coloring method called resin tint. Resin tint is done by mixing pigment into resin and then glassing it as is, so it is completely different from airbrushing. It is slightly translucent and has a calm color. If you order a custom one, you can basically make any color, so why not try making it in your favorite color?
