Performance Twin Fish

The Great White concept was an idea Kelly had. Over dinner one evening, he showed me a photo of a Great White shark and asked if I could incorporate the curves of an apex predator into a board design. A bit taken aback. I listened to his idea of turning this into a performance twin. With the photo next to me, I worked on the outline taking the shark's curves and flow, balancing it visually with some dimensions I had in mind. Checking back with Kelly we moved the wing around and came up with a good balance. With the width, we decided on I could get the proper lift needed with simple bottom contours. decided to use my most performance shortboard rocker that's evolved over 20+ ears. Outline, rocker, bottom contours in balance. I'd love to give a romantic story about how we spent years on a design, but the first shape was magic...
The Great White Twin is a high-performance groveler with the paddle and catching of a hybrid, and the on-rail performance of a shortboard. This fish fits in your quiver where most fish don’t - it creates speed in weak waves, controls speed in powerful waves, and excels at tight arcs in punchy pockets and quick wraps on shoulder sections.
Volcanic Tech is made from Basalt Fibers Extruded from Volcanic Rocks that are crushed, melted and extruded into woven fibers that make up the cloth. The cloth has similar characteristics to carbon as it relates to strength and weight however because the fibers are derived from Organic Raw materials, when combined with Bio Resins it serves as better degradable ECO alternative than using traditional carbon fiber cloth.
